Bohdan Parashchak
Conductor, accompanist, Tomatis® Consultant and Alexander Technique Teacher.
My Approach
Music has always been an essential part of my life. My curiosity about its profound influence—emotional, mental, and spiritual—led me to question why it affects listeners so deeply. Could its meaning reach beyond the emotions we feel in the moment of listening?
Along this journey, I came across the Tomatis® Listening Method and the Alexander Technique. Years of study and personal experience with both have helped me to begin to understand music—its purpose, and the way we engage with an art form that touches us all.
What inspires me most about Tomatis® and the Alexander Technique is their universal relevance. They are not limited to musicians; they speak to everyone, from the very young to the old, from trauma to healing, from insecurity to confidence, from language learning to vocal development—both methods open the door to better health, clarity, and a more balanced mind.

He also conducted SFU members at His Majesty The King’s Community Music Makers Reception at Windsor Castle in 2025.

As an accompanist, his concert tours included performances at the Montreux Festival (Switzerland), the Royal Academy of Music (London), and festivals in Strasbourg, Holland, France, Germany, Canada, Italy, and all over the UK.
Tomatis®
Bohdan studied the Tomatis® Method under the guidance of Jean‑Pierre Garnier, Charlotte Davies, and Maude Le Roux, engaging deeply with the theory and practical applications of auditory stimulation and brain integration. Through their teaching, he explored how filtered music, voice feedback, and listening exercises can influence attention, emotional regulation, and sensorimotor organisation, adapting this understanding to the needs of singers, musicians, actors, teenagers, and people from all walks of life. He has developed a strong working knowledge of the method and uses its principles to support clients in improving focus, vocal expression, and overall well‑being, and he is a qualified Level 4 Tomatis® Consultant who offers formal Tomatis® listening programmes and diagnostic evaluations.
Alexander Technique
Bohdan completed his three‑year training with Anthony Kingsley at the Alexander Teacher Training School (ATTS), immersing himself in the principles and practice of the Alexander Technique through a demanding, mentor‑guided programme. Under Anthony Kingsley’s supervision—alongside other senior teachers such as John Crawford, Caroline Dale, Delphine Miller, Carlos Monteiro, and Paul Moore—he developed a refined awareness of how to recognize and redirect habitual patterns that disrupt ease and clarity in everyday activity.
The training combined detailed hands‑on work, structured self‑experiments, and close study of Alexander’s writings as well as texts by contemporary authors, giving Bohdan a strong foundation both as a practitioner and as a future teacher. By the end of the three years, he had not only integrated the Technique into his own life but had also acquired the skills and confidence to guide others in cultivating greater freedom, balance, and mindfulness in their movements and decisions.
